Christmas Music

Amazon has a free Christmas song download every day this month up to and including Christmas Day. There's something for everyone with jazz, blues, rock, and traditional Christmas songs. Click this link to get yourself some new tunes.

Here are some of my favorites:

Calling on Mary by Aimee Mann. I like just about anything she does. I love her voice and her vocal style. She's mellow but she absolutely knows how to rock.

A Child is Born by Benny Carter and Hank Jones. This instrumental jazz track is gorgeous. The clarinet and piano solos are smooth, rich, and simply lovely. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying this song.

I also really like Christ is Come by a group named Big Daddy Weave. Their name is extremely misleading to their sound. Their name reminds me of a hip hop group but this song is very much a Praise and Worship song that you might hear in a modern church service. The lyrics will have you raising your hands in praise of the Savior.

Lastly, I dig Love Came Down at Christmas by Jars of Clay. It's got a nice groove that will have you singing it in the car and in the house and in the shower long after you have stopped listening to it. The words are beautiful and inspirational and the music is a mellow sort of jazzy rock that makes you want to shake your shoulders.

So go get yourself some happy music. Make a cup of hot chocolate. Be sure to splurge and add a marshmallow. Treat yourself already. Then, get up and dance around your Christmas tree. You know I am.
