Circles
"If you love someone, put their name in a circle because hearts can be broken, but circles never end."
I've never participated in Inspire Me Thursday before only because I didn't really know what it was about. But yesterday I was visiting Helga's new blog, My Artistic Life and she was playing with circles and dots. Then I ran across another site with a link to Inspire Me Thursday. The theme for this week just happened to be Polka Dots. As I frequently use repeating circles in my work,
I jumped in and started to alter a composition notebook using some lovely images I got this week from Helga at her fab storefront ARTchix Studio. I'm a featured artist there and am in the process of creating a couple new step-by-step projects for the site. So keep your eye on the gallery there for something new and fun.
Here's the dotted book...
I really like the ARTchix image of the wooden hands. They seem full of hope and supplication. So I will use this blank book to fill it with my dreams, hopes, and prayers. I've never kept an art journal but this seems like a good time to start as any.
I kept the back fairly simple because it's the back, after all. And I had run out of time. I covered the front and back in Dorland's wax to seal the covers (and give them a lovely smell). I have a couple more of these blank books and will work on them for my Etsy store. So stay tuned if you are in the market for a new journal.

There is great texture and depth to your art work!

Nice work, the book and other pieces! Very interesting and beautiful treatment of colors and materials (matters? not sure which one to use here, my dictionary doesn't say...)
