it is sunny. there is a breeze. i just had the best chai latte with two of my sweet friends. now i'm home listening to prince cover chaka khan's "i feel for you". i can't sit in my chair for this one. get up and dance with me!
after i posted that wacky photo of me dancing in my back yard, lorraine and i were talking about that. i try to dance as much as i can. i will dance anywhere, any time. with the kids, with the cat or the dog, with my husband, by myself. it feels good. i love to be part of the music and move around without a thought to how it looks. it doesn't matter how it looks. what matters is how it feels. and it feels good. it is food for your soul. so get up and dance!
in addition to dancing, i finished this funky fun copper and silver panel necklace.
i cut the copper sheet then formed, filed, and textured it.
some of it got put through a rolling mill with screen or sequin waste. some of it got hammered, burned, sanded, stamped, then hammered again. lastly i gave it this yummy greenish-blue patina. and i soldered the little metal clay heart onto it.
the green stones are chrysoprase. chrysoprase is the tenth precious stone, among 12 precious stones mentioned to make up the foundation stones of the city wall of the "New Jerusalem" as described in Revelation 21:20.
do you think i need to shine it up some more or should i leave it funky and dirty looking. i kind of like it like this...whaddaya think?

i LOVE this post! you look so carefree and fun... made me smile big-big. what a happy feeling. :D that's one of my fave dance songs from high school, too.
leave it a bit grungy definitely. :)

go for the grunge.
How much for the silver clay? Took a class about two years ago, and made some super cool stuff. Took another class in Jan. more cool stuff. So fun and easy to work with!!

And we should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.

I am so glad you shared a close up of the necklace. As I was looking at the dance pics I was thinking "I've got to see a close up of that necklace". I love it! The textures are wonderful. Leave it just the way it is.

Honey, I was dancing around to Chaka Khan and Rufus myself lately! That necklace is gorgeous - leave it the way it is - but it can't hold a candle to your beauty! xo

for a moment there, i thought you'd made yourself some warriors armor! hmmm, well maybe it is. Stunning breastplate Kelly! Oooh how i love all the pounded, marked up copper with yummy patina and delish green stones. sounds like you're getting to play with all kinds of Kools tools at class. Fun!
and to see you dancing around is such a delight and gave me a big grin. dancing has always been a necessary form of expression for me. in fact Raven and i were dancing this afternoon becuz we finally are feeling better and had to celebrate! he he yes we've been sick this whole time. Blech!
good to stop by and see ya here cookie. i've missed you.

I love the joyful vibe in this post. The necklace is stunning as it is. Old and worn with a history.
